Social Media Overload(week 9)
How many social media platforms do we actually need? It seems that that questioned is answered by the amount of accounts we have. Myspace (does this still exist?), Facebook, Instagram....well the list goes on. Recently I just started a Google+ account, and although I haven't fully got the understanding of it yet, I do like it.
Google+ Much like how Twitter works, you can follow someone and see all the activity that he or she publishes publicly. Google+ is a very visual platform, so beyond your profile picture, you also have quite a bit of real estate on your profile page for a cover photo. I think it is a very easy to use interface and I look forward to actually using it more. My Google+
Instagram is another platform, this is where being famous on Instagram is as important as being rich in monopoly. My own engagement with Instagram has remained fairly consistent in the last few years. I post every two or three days(when I remember), scroll my feed for 10-15 minutes every day, and like every single photo of puppy I have never met in person. I like being able to engage through pictures rather than words, although coming up with those catchy #hashtags can be painful. My Instagram
Pinterest, now to be honest this is my favorite time to waste platform. I can sit for hours pinning my dream house, pretending to be the mom who can make all the cute snacks, and seeing ideas for the best cleaning hacks. Its easy to just hold in and pin to a board, I even had my son make his own Christmas list board on it. ha ha. I can collect things without spending money. My Pinterest
