Missing...from reality (week 5)

Facebook, where do I begin? This is  place where relationships are perfect, people can believe their own made-up nonsense, and the world shows off they are living a great life…but are they really? This sounds about right, don’t you think? Let us not forget where most drama begins these days, your enemies visit your page more than your “friends”. It's not really about friends though, its about how many likes you have. You can always write what you are “really” thinking, and someone is going to take it the wrong way. With the click of a button you can just block someone from your life. These are some of the negatives you encounter in the social media world, but there are some bright sides.

Thanks to this virtual world, I am able to keep in touch with friends and family near and far. How cool is that? I have friends that live in Africa, and by the click of a button I can say hello to them and see how they are doing! Just like that!! Thanks to technology and the virtual world staying connected to others are easier than ever. Although I do believe social media has played a big part in the destruction of human interaction, and personal relationships, it is nice to be able to just pick up my phone and see whats happening around me. Oh wait… I can do that with my eyes and no phone! Personally I have experienced good and bad when it comes to Facebook, or well any social media. I was able to build a photography business, and I was able to watch it crumble on the same platform. Social media is no fill-in for actual relationships, and it shouldn’t be, but it has definitely helped businesses grow, and people connect to others. Proceed with caution what you decided to put out there on your pages, and be true to yourself, it still goes a long way, even in the virtual world.
